Pearltone
- is a custom modeled set of single coil pickups after the early Strats mid 50's with vintage staggering .187 Alnico 3 magnets oriented S-N-S spec and calibrated for strength
These pickups are over-wound progressively 5 % to bridge for old style sparkle and chime striking balance with the selector. Alnico 3 will give focused mids and round the highs to tame the ice picks and draw out bell tones, the bottom is loose and bouncy (vintage tones) Alnico 3 magnets have less string pull than their Alnico 5 counterparts and are the weakest of Alnico magnets but in rod form stronger than 2's
High quality vulcanized fiber flatwork black .062 top with black .093 bottoms
Made in the U.S.A. hand wound in Texas in my own shop
- Though ohms are subject to change in temperature these read around
- 7.44 K (neck) 2.59 Henries
- 7.61 K (mid) 2.64 Henries
- 7.75 K (bridge) 2.90 Henries
measured around 70 degrees
The sandcast alnico 3 magnets were sealed before winding in my own resin formula to prevent magnet to wire failure
Wound with a beautiful bright red modern single poly AWG43 wire and potted in paraffin/bees wax to silence microphonics.
Vintage black/white cloth wiring about 12" long for the most demanding hookups. Vintage surgical rubber tubing with nickel screws
Also available with black or cream cover
- 52mm spacing profile
Note: These Model T-105 scatterwound pickups will hum cancel in the 4th and 2nd positions
- They have all the quack and chime early single coils are known for
Dripping with tone and ready to rock
If Pearls had a tone it would be Pearltone creamy like butter and clear as a bell
They will shine in Psychedelic Blues, Blues Rock, Rock, Jazz, Country any genre you want to put them through
